CN Blue

CN Blue (Korean: 씨엔블루, Japanese: シーエヌブルー; stylized as CNBLUE), is a South Korean rock band formed in Seoul in 2009. The band consists of Jung Yong-hwa (lead vocals, rhythm guitar), Lee Jong-hyun (lead guitar, vocals), Lee Jung Shin (bass guitar, vocals) and Kang Min-hyuk (drums, vocals). "CN is an abbreviation of ‘Code Name’ while BLUE is an abbreviation of the members’ individual images," said by one of the members. ‘Burning’ represents Lee Jong-hyun, ‘Lovely’ represents Kang Min-hyuk, ‘Untouchable’ represents Lee Jung Shin, and ‘Emotional’ represents Jung Yong-hwa. Debuted on August 19, 2009 in Japan with the band's first mini album, Now or Never. The group released four teasers for their 1st mini album Bluetory, starring one member per each of the videos in the sequence of Jonghyun, Minhyuk, Jungshin and lastly, Yonghwa on the 6th, 8th, 11 and 13 January 2010 respectively. On January 14, 2010 CN Blue debuted their first mini-album in Korea with the lead single "I'm a Loner" (Korean: 외톨이야).

Members

Jung Yong-hwa

Jung Yong-hwa (Korean:  정용화) was born June 22, 1989, in Seoul, South Korea. He is a musician, singer, songwriter and actor. His first name is also written as Yonghwa, Yong-Hwa, or Yong Hwa. Jung made his show business debut as “Kang Shin-woo” in the Korean drama You're Beautiful on 7 October 2009 and played the male lead as “Lee Shin” in the 2011 drama Heartstrings. Jung is the leader, lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist of the rock band CN Blue.

His family consists of his parents and a brother, who is four years older. He moved to Busan in 1991 and lived there through high school, where he first began composing music. After taking his college entrance exam, he moved back to Seoul where he joined FNC Music. In 2009, Jung left for Japan to study music with his bandmates. While staying there, they did street performances and released indie albums. Before his debut in entertainment industry, he was well known on the internet as “handsome face (Eoljjang)”.

Lee Jong-hyun

Lee JongHyun(Korean: 이종현) was born on 15 May 1990, in Busan, South Korea. He is a guitarist, musician, singer, and actor. He is the lead guitarist, vocalist and occasional composer of South Korean rock band CN Blue. He made his acting debut in Acoustic followed by television debut in A Gentleman's Dignity in 2012.

His family consists of his parents and an older sister. He lived in Busan before his family moved to Japan when he was four years old. His family moved back to Busan and he finished his middle school and high school there. He first met Jung Yong Hwa when they were on their way to Seoul for FNC Music audition and began training in bass technology at FNC Academy.

Kang Min-hyuk

Kang Min Hyuk (Korean: 강민혁) was born on June 28, 1991. He is a drummer, actor and singer. His name is also written as MinHyuk, Min Hyuk. He is the drummer of South Korean rock band CN Blue, which debuted in January 2010 in South Korea before that they debuted as indie band in August 2009 in Japan then made major debut in October 2011 in Japan.

His family consists of his parents and an older sister. His family lives in Ilsan.

Lee Jung-shin

Lee Jung Shin (Korean: 이정신) was born on September 15, 1991 in Seoul. He is a bassist, rapper, and actor. He is the bassist of South Korean rock band CN Blue, which debuted in January 2010 in South Korea.
